East Texas Academic Rodeo Fair Competition

Three science students were awarded on February 19, 2016 at the East Texas Academic Rodeo Fair. Of the six entries, two placed 1st and 2nd in the Scientific Model and Demonstration category. This makes the students eligible to apply for East Texas State Fair Scholarship which is a very select group of students from East Texas Schools.
Deborah Paredes and Samantha Cox – Torque Taxonomy 12th Grade 1st Place
Haven Jackson — Plant Cell Model 9th Grade 2nd Place
Three art students placed at the Academic Art Rodeo under the direction of art teachers, Mark Dahlgren and Kim Taylor. The following students who placed are 9th grade: Timothy Green 2nd place in “Abstract painting”, 11th grade: Taylor Deike in Honorable Mention “Cornucopia” in pencil, and 12th grade: Michael Patterson Honorable Mention pen and ink “John Lennon”. Out of 22 high schools Chapel Hill had the 2nd highest amount of art students place.
