On Saturday, students competed in the first round of the Texas All-State Choir Competition. A campus record number of 17 students qualified and will perform in the region at the All-Region Choir Concert on Saturday, November 14th at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall.  Additionally, 9 students are advancing to Pre-Area competition (round 2) and 3 placed well enough to go directly to Area competition (round 3, the final round). Students who compete at Area will have the opportunity to be placed in the Texas All-State Choir. The following All-Region Choir students received: Christian Davis (3rd Chair Tenor I), Eddie Jones (4th Chair Tenor I), Hannah Mayfield (4th Chair Soprano I), Elise Ariaza (6th Chair Soprano II), and Ladasia Dilworth (6th Chair Alto I). The following All-Region Choir students that will be advancing to Pre-Area Competition: Maya Reazin (2nd Chair Alto I), Caleb Otte (2nd Chair Tenor II), Jamaal Johnson (4th Chair Tenor II), Hanna Vale (4th Chair Soprano I), Trevor Massenburge (5th Chair Bass I), Karyme Renteria (5th Chair Alto I), BJ Langenbau (9th Chair Bass I) Arryanna Baez (12th Chair Soprano II), and Kaycee Hampton (12th Chair Alto II). The following students Placed in the All-Region Choir and are Advancing over Pre-Area straight to Area Finals: Jazmin Gonzalez (1st Chair Alto II), Mariah Higginbotham (2nd Chair Alto II), and Montel Hood (2nd Chair Bass I)
